Vocal ensemble Twente Zangers: leading for fifty years!The vocal ensemble De Twente Zangers has been leading in the singing world for fifty years. The ensemble is celebrating this anniversary with a big concert.

RIJSSEN – A musical and festive event is on the program of the vocal ensemble De Twente Zangers and the Parkge building on Friday 25 September 2015. In the more than 100-year-old building, the 50-year-old vocal ensemble is putting on a festive concert, which is also attended by pianist Gezinus Veldman and trumpet duo Arjan and Edith Post. The concert starts at 8 p.m. Last June it was 50 years since the vocal ensemble De Twente Zangers was founded. The ensemble currently consists of fourteen men and is under the inspirational direction of conductor Louis ten Vregelaar. Exhibition Corps Marines in Oudheidkamer Hoolt'nHOLTEN - From Saturday a new exhibition about the Marine Corps can be seen in Oudheidkamer Hoolt'n in the Dorpsstraat.

The Marine Corps celebrates its 350th anniversary this year. In 1665, the Dutch States decided to add a regiment of marines to the navy. The working group marines of the Oudheidkamer Hoolt'n does not want this to go unnoticed and has set up a thematic exhibition in the showroom of the antiques room in the Dorpsstraat. An exhibit that provides a picture of the 350 years of the Marine Corps and also pays tribute to the 65th Anniversary of the Contact Old and Actively Serving Marines (C.O.M.). The members of the working group, all Old Marines,

lie within the C.O.M. active as a group Lief en Leed. The exhibition was officially opened last Saturday at the open day of the antique room. Before that, some historic army vehicles drove up with members of the working group and invited guests. The exhibition can be seen until February 2016.

Historical pictures In the former town hall on the Dorpsstraat you can visit the exhibition about the Holtenser Musikverein (HMV) and see a film with various historical pictures of Holten and the surrounding area in addition to the marine themed exhibition. The multi-touch table now contains around four thousand historical photos of Holten and the surrounding area.

Volunteer firefighters HOLTEN – Five volunteers from the Twente fire brigade were given the spotlight on Friday 18 September at Kaserne De Eg 15 in Holten. Mayor Arco Hofland from the municipality of Rijssen-Holten was present to honor the volunteer firefighters and to present the certificates and medals

to achieve: an additional piece of recognition for the nice work that the fire brigade does! Firefighters Wilfred te Wierik and Hendri van Zon have been on the job for 12.5 years. The 15th anniversary of Hendriët Schoemaker and Erwin Bruggeman's fire brigade was celebrated and Martin Nijland had been in action for 25 years.

Breakdance Bato HoltenHOLTEN – The sports association BATO Holten asked whether breakdance could also be included in the BATO courses. The board is enthusiastic and is looking for boys and girls who are interested. If there are enough registrations, BATO will start this cool dance style

Collection of clothes RIJSSEN/HOLTEN – The Riding Club for the Disabled in the East (VPGO) collects used clothing for riding for the disabled from September 28th to October 2nd. The Stichting Paard-riding Gehandicapten Rijs-sen-Holten has a keen interest in collecting many used clothes, home textiles and used shoes. The proceeds from the collection of used clothing are distributed to the horse riding disability foundations in the east of the Netherlands, including the foundation mentioned above. Riding for the disabled is not only a sport and leisure activity, but also a form of therapy. In addition to the enjoyment that many people experience, it is also important for many people with disabilities to remain physically active. Riding is a great opportunity within the possibilities for the disabled.

The muskrat migration season has begun: one season

used by the musk and nutria fighters of the Vechtstreamen Water Board to place additional traps.

Twente – “Last year we caught more than 3,100 sparrow kusrats in our work area. This year we expect to exceed that. "We have to do that if we want to limit the destructive power of these animals," says Jan-Willem Hekman, senior rat exterminator at the Vechtstream water board.

At the beginning of this year, the transport company Rensink put two Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks into operation in Almelo for international special transport. Good news, because the company recently bought a third Actros and the fourth has been ordered.

Twente - Rensink made the purchase based on the positive feedback from the market regarding the good fuel consumption, low maintenance costs and the truck's appearance. They were the first Mercedes-Benz trucks in the fleet of 25 trucks.

More economical than other trucks Geertjan Westerhuis, Managing Director of Rensink, explains: "We have been using these two Actros trucks for over six months now and have had very positive experiences. Since we use these trucks for all types of special transport, consumption cannot be described as very constant, but on average they are around 5 to 6 percent more economical than our other trucks.”

Good contact with BaanWesterhuis: “We bought the trucks from the Mercedes-Benz truck dealer Baan Twente. This purchase includes a repair and maintenance contract. The contact is very good due to the customer friendliness, the enthusiasm and the quick mediation of the dealer.”

ENSCHEDE – Twax is a special Euregio project that will be on show on Friday September 25th from 8pm at Mu-ziekcentrum in Enschede.

Twas caused quite a stir last year: a photographer, a graphic designer and a composer each approached the topic of jazz in their own way. On the CD TWasch you can hear music that can hardly be categorized: it's jazz, it has classical passages, but sometimes this music is completely free without becoming obtrusive. Now this music is also played in Enschede in a concert with Gerard Kleijn, Martin Classen and Markus Stockhausen.

Twas is a special cultural project. What is the challenge for you as a composer? Twax initiator and composer Tobias Sudhoff: "Hermann Willers, Cees Andriessen and I asked ourselves: what actually is jazz?" I noticed immediately that jazz is first and foremost about communication. So my goal was to bring all these different forms of communication with each other into a musical form.

What made Twas so attractive? Trumpeter Markus Stockhausen van Twas says: “I like projects that cross different art forms. These forms create new insights and connections. And I always find it nice and exciting to get to know new musicians – both musically and personally. I was all the happier when Tobias asked me to take part, precisely because our last concert was a success.

What do visitors hear in Enschede? Stockhausen: "Happy, colorful music with good instrumentalists." Sudhoff: "Yes, I think so too. I've been working with Gerard Kleijn, Martin Classen, Uli Wentzlaff and Joost Kesselaer from the TWasch-Ensemble for more than ten years and that makes me happy. We have also asked a young cellist to join us who caught our eye during the Tvash masterclasses. And it makes me proud to work with a star like Markus Stockhausen.”

They deal with making music intuitively; a kind of free music-making without notes, but a musical conversation between musicians. Stockhausen: "I wouldn't necessarily describe Twasch's music as intuitive, it's mainly improvised jazz, but with free passages and dialogues in which a lot will certainly happen intuitively."

This Saturday there is a lot to do in the Rijssen shopping center and the shops are open until 9pm. On this day, Plein het Schild will be the heart of fashion city Rijssen. Holten houses energy efficient! HOLTEN – The housing association Viverion decided in November 2014 to carry out extensive maintenance and energy saving measures on the 43 houses in the Schoutenstraat, Schepenenstraat and Lageweg, instead of demolishing and building a replacement as previously planned. Bouwbedrijf Nijhuis from Rijssen was commissioned to carry out the work instructed. During the preparation of the project, Viverion worked closely with a committee made up of residents of these houses. In the meantime

The work has started. In the show home at Schepenenstraat 19, residents can see what their home will look like once the work is complete.

The work on these houses is partly made possible by a contribution from the municipality of Rijssen-Holten. City Councilor Jan Aanstoot: “As part of the Delta plan, space has been made for sustainability projects. This is one of the projects we want to get involved in as a community to do our part

Diepenheim is ready for a stunning Schuttersfeest!DIEPENHEIM – The Diepenheimse Schutterij is organizing the Schuttersfeest again this year on the last weekend in September. A spectacular program for young and old, including this year The Dirty Daddies, Kunsten op Straat and The Euros.

Friday, September 25 On Friday afternoon, Graads (Gertjan Oplaat) and Dika (Anita Bolink) will give lectures from the performance "Ode aan de Wierdense Revue". Together

From 2.30 p.m., they and the Brook Duo ensure a pleasant program for seniors in the afternoon. The flea market takes place outside from 3 p.m. The official opening of the party is at 4.30 p.m., after which the company hour begins. The party starts with the tapping of the “first beer”. Floor Onijs and Thijs Linthorst Queen and King DIEPENHEIM – Floor Onijs and Thijs Linthorst are the new youth queen and youth king of Diepenheim. On Saturday the game program took place around the youth shooter festival. More than 150 children followed

KiBi Club open air afternoon on the EuropapleinRIJSSEN – The KiBi Club is hosting an open air afternoon on the Europaplein, the square in front of the City Hall, on Saturday afternoon, September 26th. All children are welcome to drop by the KiBi Club. Of course, parents, grandpas, grandmas can come too! From half past twelve the children can enjoy a game with great prizes to be won. The program starts at two o'clock. Marianne van Helden will speak about the Bible and her work in Guinea-Bissau this afternoon. In addition, we sing and do handicrafts together. Since 2003, Van Helden has worked in Guinea-Bissau for the Kimon Foundation (Kinderhulp Mondiaal). Before that she worked as a teacher in Rijssen. . The club afternoon ends around half past four. Sunday afternoon KiBi ClubThe KiBi Club, an initiative of Hersteld Hervormde Gemeente in Rijssen, aims to familiarize children with the message of the Bible. Since the KiBi Club was founded in December 2013, the KiBi Club has always taken place on Saturday afternoons. From next October, the KiBi Club will take place on Sunday afternoons. The next club afternoons are planned for Sunday 11th and 25th October. The KiBi Club then starts at half past three and lasts until four in the Groene Kruis building, Haarstraat 83 in Rijssen. Sportclub Rijssen does not take advantage of missed opportunitiesRIJSSEN – With the full victory of two games in the bag, the first football team of Sportclub Rijssen had to play against BZSV from Borne last Saturday, who have collected the same number of points in the past games.
